Who we are
SitRep is run by Jooris IT CommV, a company registered in Belgium under enterprise number BE 1040.211.568, with its registered office at Populierenlaan 32, 9230 Wetteren, Belgium. We are the controller of your personal data. You can reach us about anything in this policy at robinjooris@hotmail.com.
What we collect and why

SitRep has no real photos of you or your dogs: avatars are drawn by the app from a few settings. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use tracking or analytics tools from other companies. We count visits to our website ourselves, without cookies, as described above.
Shared versions of a lesson are public to other SitRep users and show the name you chose. Dogs and training you share with your household are visible to its members. Everything else stays private to your account.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored in the European Union, on servers we run ourselves. No other company processes your data for us today. When we add paid subscriptions, emails from the app, crash reports or advertising, we will name each provider here before it starts.
How long we keep it
- Your account data: until you delete it. Delete it any time with Delete my data in the app.
- Backups: deleted data can stay in backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten.
- Accounts that have not been used for 2 years: we warn you by email and then delete them.
- Reports about community content: up to 1 year after they are dealt with.
Today Delete my data removes everything SitRep stores, but your sign-in (email and password) stays until you ask us to remove it. Send us an email and we will do it within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or take your data with you, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. You can download your data any time with Download my data in the app (a JSON file). For anything else, email us; we answer within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Age
You must be 18 or older to make a SitRep account. People under 18 can only use SitRep as a member of a family plan, added by an adult who holds the plan and agrees to this policy for them. Family plans never show ads.
Security
Connections are encrypted, each account can only reach its own data, and access to our servers is limited to us. If a breach puts your data at risk, we tell the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and tell you when the law requires it.
Changes
When we change this policy we update the version and date above, and we tell you in the app before a change that affects you takes effect.
